Starting a Successful YouTube channel can feel rough. Most people start a YouTube channel without thinking it through.

Before you can hope to grow a YouTube channel, build an audience get views and get subscribers on YouTube, you should really have a plan for what content you want to create, who you think will watch it and why they should care about your channel in the first place. If you don’t do these things when starting a YouTube channel, growing the channel is going to feel like a struggle.

Most content creators worry too much about what will be popular instead of what they are good at talking about what will get them or people like them excited.

When you’re starting a YouTube channel, think about exactly who should be a subscriber and why. If you can’t explain what you’re channel is a about in 10-25 seconds, you’re probably going to lose people. They make up their minds very quickly about what is worth their time, so don’t waste it.

If you really want to know how to grow a YouTube channel, think about the channels you’re subscribed to and why you watch them. Think really hard and list 5-10 reasons you watch them instead of something else. Now try and do that for your own channel.

When growing a YouTube channel avoid copying other YouTubers. It might be tempting to try and mimic someone that you admire or think is successful, but if you do that the odds are you will fail and you won’t grow a YouTube channel successfully. People won’t be interested because you’re not being authentic and it will show.
