GUAP NEWS Training offered by ISU Extension for food entrepreneurs AdminNovember 18, 2023041 views Food entrepreneurs who want to take their new products to the next level may register for a new, in-person course made available by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The two-day course is set for Dec. 1-2 in Council Bluffs. ISU Extension and Outreach acquired the curriculum from the University of Massachusetts, Shannon Coleman, associate professor in food science and human nutrition and a human sciences extension specialist at Iowa State, said in a news release. Coleman’s research team has partnered with Kitchen Council in Council Bluffs to bring this curriculum to emerging and current food entrepreneurs in Iowa. This course is a two-day program designed specifically with lectures and interactive activities. Participants will expand their knowledge of product development and labeling, as well as preventative controls and foodborne hazards of food products.
