United Way of the Black Hills host workshop for area non-profits

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – There are more than 1,000 non-profit organizations across the Black Hills.

The United Way of the Black Hills is helping to support those missions by hosting educational workshops.

Many of these non-profits operate with small budgets or a small number of employees, so traveling out of the state to attend conferences or workshops can be difficult.

By offering free workshops in the local area, the United Way of the Black Hills can further fulfill its mission of supporting local non-profits and uniting people and resources.

The workshops cover topics such as grant writing, strategic planning, and fundraising.

“It’s a great opportunity again for nonprofits to get together, network, learn some new tools, gather some resources, and go out and make a difference in our communities,” said John Cass, executive director for United Way of the Black Hills.

The next workshops are on Jan. 19 at Mount Rushmore Society in Rapid City and January 26 at the Custer County Library. The workshops are from 11 a.m. -2 p.m.
