Every Wednesday, the Montclair Brewery hosts Taproom Trivia, a delightful event that brings the community together over beer and brain teasers. This year, they’re adding a romantic twist to their festivities. On February 14th, from 6 to 8 p.m., they will be holding Valentine’s Day-themed trivia with questions about romantic-comedy movies, love songs, and the history of Valentine’s Day. So, grab your favorite Valentine’s Day beverage, sit back, and enjoy the show. A Toast to Collaboration This February, the Montclair Brewery is not just about trivia and Valentine’s Day celebrations. They are joining forces with Allagash Brewing Company and Crowns & Hops, a Black-owned brewery, in a collaboration aimed at increasing racial equity in the craft beer industry. This partnership is releasing two special beers during Black History Month, with a portion of the proceeds going to the 8 Trill Initiative, which supports Black entrepreneurs in the craft beer ecosystem. Cur-8 and Verb: Brewing Change The first beer, Cur-8, is a pilsner brewed by Allagash and Crowns & Hops. It’s a unique blend with notes of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. The second beer, Verb, is a lager with lemon verbena, brewed by Montclair Brewery and Allagash. These beers are more than just a delightful combination of flavors; they represent a step towards a more inclusive brewing industry. Brewing for a Cause Rob Tod, founder of Allagash, emphasizes the need for ongoing initiatives to make the brewing industry more inclusive. Currently, less than 1% of U.S. breweries are Black-owned, despite Black people making up 13% of the population. This collaboration is a testament to the power of unity and the shared commitment to create a more equitable future. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Montclair Brewery’s Taproom Trivia, let’s also raise a glass to the power of collaboration, the pursuit of equality, and the joy of good beer. Here’s to a future where every brewery represents the rich diversity of our nation. Key Points: Montclair Brewery is hosting Valentine’s Day-themed trivia on February 14.
