A statement on the back of the newsletter reads, “If you do a little research, you will learn it takes a population of at least 100,000 people to build a successful Community Foundation. The area around Walker County has proven the research wrong. Over the last 30 years, we have received more than $158 million in gifts and granted over $57 million to nearly 500 nonprofits serving our community. Simple math says we should only have $101 million left in assets. Again, reality outperforms the ‘should be.’ Today, the total assets of your Community Foundation exceed $132 million.” You may learn more about supporting the Foundation’s efforts by visiting wacf.org.
