Warning For Crypto Investors

I’m the most famous boring investor on YouTube, I’m well known for investing into the things that your grandparents go crazy about, index funds and Etfs. Naturally people believe I’m against people that invest money into Crypto.

But I have one friend that made a few million dollars from the crypto market, and he continues to lose a bunch of money every year. I learned that what it takes to make money and what it takes to keep it, are two very different things.

So, this video serves as a warning, because things can get a lot worse. To a man with a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

1. What’s going on with the crypto market:

-For the investors: the entire market is down, and now the question is, will it stay down or is this a buying opportunity that’s being created?

-For the companies: some brokers are filing for bankruptcy and have frozen funds ( to pay you 9% for doing nothing is something you have to really about )

-For the actual investments: two things are happening, they have been corrected to the real price, or they are experiencing a temporary depression ( I cant tell you which is true)

What funds something is super important

-A barbershop makes money by people going to cut their hair

-If we all became bald overnight, people would still go to get something else shaving

However: when the value of something is based on somebody else opinion of the value of It ( we have a massive problem ) How do you pick the winners

-For example in the year 2000, we form a tech bubble, not to say that their weren’t any good tech companies, with solid fundamentals

-But the belief that you could get rich investing into tech, and having that massive problem

–Make people invest a lot of money into anything that had tech in the name or in the bio ( terrible businesses )

-So when the bublle pop a lot of money ivaporated

2. Here something else I’m seeing ( Buy the Dip )

Everyone is speculator naturally from birth, but becoming an investor require a lot work

Let me point to 2008, we had this sure belief that the housing market only went up and never went down

So you had people buy homes for an insane amount of money, and when the market crashed they went under ( imagine having to pay a mortgage for 500k on an asset only worth 100k for example )

My point is that if you don’t know what the value of something is, just buying it when its lower is stupid, but if you know what something is worth, then naturally you know when its selling for less ( like me when I was in business of flipping phones ) and idiot might say its cheaper than retail but that’s stupid

3. Investor Mentality ( 90-10 rule )

-Have money for risky rich ways to make money, that take a lot of luck

-But then have the majority of money into boring investmens, you see when you buy an index like the s&P 500 you are investing in America, the actual country overall ( so you fail if America fails )

-I’ve never felt as comfortable as my mentor warren buffet has with hat idea, so I also have some other low cost index

-The reason no promotes this, is because they don’t make money by you buying and holding for 10-20 years
