West Midlands entrepreneur scheme gets £10m funding boost

A programme supporting entrepreneurs from the West Midlands has been given £10m by the government. The West Midlands Innovation Accelerator, managed by the West Midlands Combined Authority, will get the money to go towards providing expert advice and grants to help develop products and technologies in the region.The scheme has already supported more than 700 businesses and created hundreds of local jobs, officials claim.The added investment was aimed at making the local economy stronger, West Midlands mayor Richard Parker said.”In the 21st Century we’re pioneering new 5G-powered technologies, health and medical tech and life sciences,” he added.
