White House Initiative for Black Americans Presents: Power Up in Philadelphia

On Wednesday, October 23, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Philadelphia, PA to give remarks at the Power Up summit hosted by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans in partnership with Discovery Education at Temple University.

Power Up is a series of in-person and virtual engagements that serve as critical touchpoints to directly engage the community, discuss best and promising practices, and share information about local and federal resources that advance educational and economic opportunities for Black Americans.

Philadelphia is the fifth installment of the multi-city series and will focus on the whole-of-government approach to supporting Black students, families, and communities.

During the summit attendees will hear directly from federal agencies about the initiatives, policies, and strategies aimed at enhancing racial and social justice, economic opportunity, and access to essential services for Black Americans.

These events are open to press. If you are interested in covering these events, please RSVP to pressRSVP@ed.gov
