1. The Pace
– I don’t know how this works but it’s true
– And the only reason I know this
– Is because I would come to an island in the summers, and realize how different life was
I don’t want my life to be fast
– I rather it go slow

2. Home Prices ( Condos )
– The home I was living in, which was not that great, cost about 700k
– A condo was 170-200k but then you had to pay $700 in HOA fees
Things were just so expensive, that it didn’t make sense to me
Because:
– It would cost me decades of my life to pay something like that off

3. The Weather
– Being in New York, always felt like I was in a black-and-white movie
– I don’t like the cold and I don’t like snow
– Blazing hot

4. The Hustle Culture
– People are often more interested in things than people and living life
– People justify ignoring their families for jobs and money

5. Train Folks (I’ve seen fights )

6. Lack of Trust ( with cops )

– When a city is that big and there are so many people
– You just don’t really trust anyone and no one trusts you
– Cops don’t trust me, stores don’t trust me, people don’t trust and you may say that’s normal, but not in a small town
– It’s different

7. The interchangeable relationship ( almost like people are your friends as long as you can exchange something for them )
– Always thinking you’ll need to pay someone back

8. The Taxes

9. No Room to Grow ( literally, I mean acres )

10. Not Big Family friendly (it’s so expensive )

Not saying that people
– I made a lot of good friends
– People were nice to me
– Opportunities many
The way I see it,
– New York is like a company town
– You go to make money
– And you figure out a way to leave
