When building my video editing PC I had a focus on 4K Video editing from the very beginning and new this would be replacing the iMac as my primary video editing computer for the YouTube channel and all of my client video editing projects.

I also intended for this to be a decent Gaming PC that could handle 4K in at least 30FPS and 1440 at 60FPS which it does beautifully!

When it comes to video editing and gaming this pc build is very satisfying and still has room to grow! When you put together a video editing computer I found that CPU matters more than anything else followed by GPU and Ram. You can get significantly faster render times and an enhanced performance with a good GPU in your video editing build, but most video editing program don’t need more than 16GB-32GB of ram.

This will help with video editing performance overall and improved render times when exporting. You also need to be aware your storage drives are the big failure point and bottleneck when it comes to video editing. This is why I bought 3x SSDs and 3 HDDs to handle this and to maximize the video editng performance and get faster export times.
