Here is my perspective on wedding rings, it started out as a marketing ploy by a big diamond company but today it has become tradition and apart of the culture, so I have anything against it. I just don’t think you should spend a bunch of money you don’t have, to buy something that the only way to tell if its not natural or the highest quality is by looking under a microscope, literally no can tell lol. Plus that money is better spend on a house or a kid.
1. Moissanite
It’s the second hardest stone to a diamond ( rarely you can get the naturally grown one, most of the time its lab grown )
Close to a diamond in color
It has carbon and silicon in its chemical makeup, so the light shines differently so you get a little more color
Let’s talk money though
You have 3 types of moissanite, Classic, forever brilliant and forever one moissanite ( its different colors that you select on taste )
But the price ratio can be literally ridiculous
1 carat can cost you $1,405 while with a diamound that’s like 5k or 3 carats can cost you $3k vs 25k diamond
Cons:
Its hard to resell and it’s a poor investments
But these stones aren’t really for investing or reselling really
2. Lab grown Diamonds
Which average about 30%-50% less than a naturally minded diamond
The difference cannot be seen with the natural eye which why jewelry companies have machines to verify this stuff
They have the same hardness of 10, same color depending on the quality and they are made from carbon
3. Natural Diamonds
This is the stuff you get form the earth, from years heat and pressure that created these unique beauties
They don’t make for great investments what so ever but they do mean some culturally
I think it comes down to a personal decision
More Tips:
Consider Buying Used at pawn shops, you can get 30-50% of natural diamonds this way
Remember reseller have 10x markups on some of this stuff, so don’t think you are getting a deal
