Even in the dead of summer, The Root is thinking about this upcoming school year when Black students will walk onto the nation’s top Historically Black Universities and Colleges (HBCUs) — and some for the very first time. Although we love our HBCUs for their academic excellence and famous alumni, college is more than simply hitting the books. Balancing studying with a good party— on the weekends of course— is what college is all about.
We know school admins don’t like to be labeled “party schools,” but that’s part of the appeal, right?! Students need a release, and trust they know how to find it. In this list, The Root took a look at some of the most well known HBCUs in the nation, but this time, we’re talking all things party life!
