A Kansas City-based nonprofit is fighting against systemic racism by bridging the gap for black-owned businesses.

The page features restaurants, retailers, service providers, artists and other creatives, aiming to make it easier for residents and visitors to discover and support local entrepreneurs.

“We believe supporting Black-owned businesses should be simple,” said Brandon Calloway, CEO and co-founder of Kansas City G.I.F.T. “Our goal is to make our Instagram a convenient resource where anyone can find local Black-owned businesses and choose to support them.”

Organizers say new businesses will be added regularly, making the directory a growing resource for the community.

Black-owned businesses that want to be featured can reach out through Instagram or visit the KC G.I.F.T. Business Center, 5008 Prospect Ave., Kansas City, Missouri.
