AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – In downtown Augusta, following Black Friday, there was Small Business Saturday.
It’s the day small businesses get to shine, which comes at an important time.
Some small businesses are still dealing with the impacts of Hurricane Helene.
Even though Small Business Saturday is over for the day, the director of Soul City gave his thoughts on why supporting small businesses matters.
“It’s a big important day because you need to shop locally, keep your dollars. Local really, all these business owners are people who live in your community and support your community, and it’s important to support them too,” said John Porter.
Porter also said The Soul City Spectacular, a holiday decoration competition in downtown Augusta, starts on December 6.
If you pick up a raffle ticket from downtown on Saturday, there will be a drawing to announce the winners next week and Downtown Soul City will reach out to the winners.
