An Aiken non-profit continues to recognize Black men and women making a positive contribution to the city, Aiken County or the surrounding area.

Umoja Village recently began selling its 2025 “Umoja Village Celebrates Black Excellence” wall calendar.

The 2025 calendar is the group’s third annual and will highlight the unsung heroes of the Aiken community, according to a news release.

“These individuals give so much of themselves to lift up others and to support various causes, organizations, and initiatives oftentimes behind the scenes and sometimes without public recognition,” said CEO/co-founder Donna Wesby. “They are more concerned about getting the job done versus who gets the credit.”

The calendars are $15. They can be purchased at the Richard Johnson Jr. Umoja Village Resource Center at 831 Hayne Ave. SW. Calendars are also available for purchase and shipping through the organization’s website, umojavillage.com.

Tickets are $20. They can be purchased at the resource center or at the group’s website.
