The Auburn City Council will meet Thursday with several topics on the agenda, including public hearings, property sales, and proclamations.

The meeting begins with ceremonial presentations at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial City Hall. Mayor James Giannettino, Jr. will present a proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month, followed by a commemoration of the Zonta Club’s 100th anniversary of service to the local community.

A public hearing will address the city’s application for Community Development Block Grant funding for 2025-2026. This plan includes allocations aimed at supporting housing and infrastructure projects over the next four years​.

Key resolutions under consideration include the authorization of sales for multiple city-owned properties acquired through tax foreclosures. Properties at 19-21 Venice Street, 17-19 Derby Avenue, and 41 Lansing Street are set to be sold to Housing Visions Consultants, Inc. Each sale is priced at $5,000 with conditions requiring extensive renovation to be completed by the end of 2027​.

In addition, the council will appoint a new member to the Human Rights Commission and receive updates on ongoing community initiatives.

The session will conclude with staff presentations on Auburn’s 2025-2029 CDBG Consolidated Plan and an opportunity for councilors to discuss other business matters.
