The Snowmies Holiday Market is not just a shopping experience; it’s an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and amplify the talents of Black and Brown artists, cultural makers, and entrepreneurs. BAC is committed to playing a vital role in the lives of Black and Brown artists and entrepreneurs; the annual Snowmies Holiday Market and various year-round programming aim to bridge the gap between the creative and the consumer.
Co-founder Cjala Surratt emphasizes the significance of consumer purchasing power and its crucial role in supporting Black creatives, cultural makers, and entrepreneurs. She asserts, “Every purchase is a tool for generating positive change.” When the community actively supports local Black-owned businesses, each transaction champions solidarity, resilience, and appreciation for the distinctive contributions of Black artists and entrepreneurs.”
The Black Artist Collective is a Syracuse-based organization that endeavors to play an essential role in the lives of emerging and established Black and Brown artists by cultivating networks and amplifying the talents of its richly diverse membership through events, professional development, educational opportunities, and networking.
Salt City Market, featuring twelve locally-owned restaurants, boasts diverse cuisine from across the world, is located at 484 South Salina Street, where the heart of Downtown meets the culturally rich South and West Sides of Syracuse.
