CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Entrepreneurs from across the Coastal Bend gathered Saturday for an event designed to help local business owners build connections, find resources and learn from one another.
The Black Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce hosted its expo at the Boys and Girls Club on Greenwood Drive as part of Black Business Month.
The event brought together entrepreneurs and small business owners looking for opportunities to grow their businesses and connect with others facing similar challenges.
Organizers say creating those connections is especially important for people who are just starting a business and may not know where to turn for guidance.
One local small business owner said having a community of entrepreneurs can make a major difference for people who are trying to navigate the challenges of running a business.
Instead of viewing other small businesses strictly as competitors, she said business owners can benefit by working together and sharing knowledge.
The expo gave attendees an opportunity to learn about available resources, make professional connections and hear from other entrepreneurs about what has worked for them.
For newer business owners, those relationships can provide support when questions or challenges arise.
Organizers hope the connections made during the expo continue beyond the event and help strengthen the local business community.
