Black Stars missing Baba Rahman’s influence – Agyemang-Badu

Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has reacted to the absence of defender Abdul Baba Rahman in the Ghana national team.

According to Agyemang-Badu, the absence of Baba Rahman is not helping the Black Stars because Gideon Mensah is playing without any proper competition on the left side of defense.

Badu stated that players are not above criticism but the personal attacks on Abdul Baba Rahman for his performance in the national team was too much.

How Black Stars players performed after FIFA World Cup qualifiers

“Its hard playing for a football nation like Ghana where all the 35 million people are coaches.”

“You need to be prepared for criticisms but sometimes they became too personal for the player and that became a problem,” he said while reacting to the absence of Baba Rahman on Metro TV.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu also urged the Black Stars technical handlers to try players like Tariq Lamptey in the left back role if Gideon Mensah is not performing well.

Abdul Baba Rahman last played for the Black Stars in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic in September 2023.
