GET GRANTS Boulder County sustainability grant to Nederland AdminMarch 16, 2024034 views The Sustainability Matching Grant was established in 2014 to support sustainability efforts in Boulder County communities. The 2024 grant program is funded by revenue from the Sustainability Tax. This year, Nederland was awarded $15,000 to help address its sustainability needs. Nederland will use this money to continue funding the Sustainability Coordinator position. This position was created in 2020 and filled by community member Leah Haney. Haney’s contract ended in December 2023, but she will now return this April. She was originally hired as a contractor but will now become a part-time employee. With the money from Boulder County’s Sustainability Matching Grant, SAB is able to keep Haney in her position. The Sustainability Coordinator is in charge of managing and designing the Board’s programs. Their tasks include planning events, collaborating with other departments, applying for grants, and identifying external funding opportunities. Haney’s experience in renewable energy and communications makes her the ideal candidate for the role.
