INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Black Chefs Collective is hosting a special event called Chefsgiving on November 22nd at the Echelon Loft, offering a five-course dinner with wine pairings to celebrate Black culinary excellence.

Chefsgiving is an intimate dining experience curated by the Black Chefs Collective, featuring a five-course meal paired with wine, live music, and a DJ performance. The event aims to bring people together to share food, conversation, and community during the holiday season.

“We connect chefs, caterers, and food entrepreneurs through collaboration, mentorship, and shared resources,” said Chef Vikki Massie, founder of the Black Chefs Collective.

“It’s gotten to me. First of all, like Chef Vikki was talking about, support,” Arias Crowell said, owner of Zodiac Chef.

The Black Chefs Collective is a network of culinary professionals dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and amplifying Black excellence in food. The organization connects chefs, caterers, and food entrepreneurs through collaboration, mentorship, and shared resources, creating opportunities to grow, learn, and lead within the culinary industry.

Chefsgiving will feature live music and a set by DJ Mary Jane, creating the perfect blend of fine dining and festive celebration. The event is designed to bring people together around the table to share food, conversation, and community during the holiday season.

Chef Vikki Massie, the founder of the Black Chefs Collective, emphasized the importance of representation and support within the culinary community. “We are just trying to bring awareness to African American chefs in the community,” she said.

Chef Arias Crowell, owner of Zodiac Chef, highlighted the support network that the Black Chefs Collective provides. “I know I can call any one of the chefs in there, like, hey, I need this,” Crowell said.

Tickets for Chefsgiving can be purchased on Eventbrite, and the event will take place from 6 PM to 9 PM at 5501 East 71st Street.
