COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Bernard Hardison, the Columbia cook known for his catch phrase ‘baptizing chicken,’ just got a major seal of approval from celebrity food critic Keith Lee.

Hardison’s video of him ‘baptizing chicken’ went viral with more than 60M views.

Hardison’s food got the attention of Cedric the Entertainer and Anthony Anderson.

The duo formed the new brand AC Barbeque.

According to the official website, AC Barbeque is a new BBQ lifestyle brand founded on the principles of Black excellence, family tradition, and bringing people together.

It goes on to say that AC Barbeque aims to provide the tools, flavor, and community that will take grilling to the next level.

Hardison was flown to Los Angeles to take part in AC Barbeque’s special VIP food event.

Hardison is also preparing to host his ‘Looka The Festival.’

It’s a food festival that will take place Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Historic Columbia Speedway in Columbia.
