PLANO — The Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce will host a members-only business education session in January focused on helping entrepreneurs improve their access to capital and long-term growth.
Titled “The Bankable Business: Credit, Capital & Strategic Growth,” the event is designed to give business owners practical insight into how lenders evaluate companies for funding and what steps are necessary to become bankable. Organizers say the session will move beyond theory to offer an inside look at creditworthiness, financial readiness and strategic positioning.
The featured speaker will be Demetris Adekanmbi, a business banking specialist who will discuss what banks look for when reviewing loan applications and how businesses can better prepare themselves for financing opportunities.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at the Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce offices, 1309 W. 15th St., Suite 120, in Plano. Lunch will be provided.
The session is sponsored by Credit Union of Texas and is limited to 45 participants. Attendance is restricted to chamber members, and organizers describe the program as an intimate, strategy-focused conversation for business owners who are serious about sustainable growth and access to capital.

Chamber officials noted that space is limited and encouraged interested members to register early.
