Rochester, N.Y. — A celebration of culture and community returned Friday evening in downtown Rochester. The Black Culture Festival is back for its seventh year, celebrating the black community and supporting local entrepreneurs. This year’s theme is “homecoming,” which focuses on the powerful connection between education, school pride, and Black culture. “When it comes to the Black Culture Festival, it’s about bringing generations together,” said Jessica Hilaire, a board member for the Black Culture Festival. “It’s about honoring things we do in the community, giving back to the community, but also having a space to celebrate that. And making sure we honor that every single year.”The festival continues Saturday at Parcel 5 from noon to 8 p.m. __________
