Glow Up Girl, a Wayne County nonprofit empowering young women, just received its largest grant ever — $86,200 from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation — to expand its out-of-school programming, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The funding will help the group boost after-school services to five days a week, hire more staff, and launch a new leadership initiative for middle and high school girls. Two other grants, including one from the Black Giving Collective, will support financial literacy, mentorship, and wellness workshops.

Organizers call the funding “transformational” for the girls and families they serve.
