Grant Co. Sheriff’s Office investigates hit-and-run at cemetery


BLOOMINGTON, Wis. (WMTV) – Grant County investigators are seeking information Thursday after a truck allegedly hit a pillar at the entrance of a cemetery earlier this week.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered early Monday morning that the entrance pillar of Blakes Prairie Cemetery, which is at the intersection of Highway 133 and Spruce Road in Bloomington, was damaged.

The red dually truck left behind red paint, scraped from the passenger dually fender flare.

The Grant Co. agency said it also discovered black plastic scrapes from the passenger side mirror.

Investigators said volunteers replaced the pillars, which cost $3,000 in materials.

The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about this hit-and-run to call the agency at 608-723-2157.
