Local Black entrepreneurs are looking to connect with the community through their different ventures and create safe spaces for other Black residents in Bowling Green (BG).  Here are four Black entrepreneurs with businesses located in Bowling Green.

Grub Guys
Located in the bustling streets of downtown Bowling Green, Larry Johnson and his business partner Mike Drane serve hearty meals made with fresh ingredients. Johnson worked in the food service industry for 30 years and was inspired to bring his own twist on home-cooked meals. His experience and dream of being a chef led to the creation of Grub Guys.

De’Ante Shivers
A Bowling Green State University (BGSU) alumnus, De’Ante Shivers, created TriggaMeals in 2016, inspired by the passing of his mother. Shivers grew up in Detroit with his brother Darryl, taught by his mother to give back to others whenever he could. Through TriggaMeals, Shivers has been able to connect with the BGSU community on a deeper level. TriggaMeals is available at Ziggys Bar in downtown Bowling Green.

Doriece Sanders
A third-year student at BGSU, Doriece Sanders, started her own hair business, ‘StyledByRiece’, to help Black students take care of their hair upkeep and needs. Sanders first got this idea after noticing the lack of Black hair salons in Bowling Green, so she took matters into her own hands. Sanders has worked in local businesses such as All in One Beauty Shack, located on Wooster Street.
