How much Money i make in Dividends From Stocks in 2021

Now I’ve decided to make these videos atleast once a year, where I update you guys on how money I make from dividends and share some knowledge of the things have changed and what hasn’t changed.

1. Last Year: here is the full info ( three main apps)
I was Using Acorns and I had invested: $24,605.85
– Which bought me something around 268 shares of etfs
– This made me an average $633.56 annually which equal $52.80

Robinhood had:
– $11,965.95
– Owned around 149 shares
– Which made me $322 annually and $26.87

Sofi Money had:
– $16,066.81
– I owned around 633 shares
– and got paid around $900 annual or 75 a month ( but delta never started paying a dividend again, however, I did lock in a 100 profit from them

So overall including some other apps:
– had invested $55,040
– which paid around $158 a per month

2. My plan has changed so much today than what it was back then
– Wanted to invest as much as possible so I could get to my goal of living off dividends and also using the 4% rule
– Which when you withdraw 4% of your portfolio
– So you never run out of money and you don’t carry that much risk

But guess what:
– I needed almost 1.2M dollars invested to get to that goal
– It was so much money, and it would take years
– And who knew when they would crash or if my income would stop

3. In 2021 I started investing very aggressively trying to get to that goal
– But mid-year around April, I stopped because the plan had to many unknows

But here is what I did do:
– Invested a total of $313,546
– And that money makes me around $5,067 per year
– And only around $422.31 per month

Buts that’s not all:
– If this grows at 10% average that’s 31k in gains each year
– And I take out just 4% that’s 12,500 dollars each year

Let me break this down:
– These days I only use two account M1 finance and Vanguard ( I’ve learned simplicity wins )
– I also sold my single stock holding of delta for 100% profit turning my 14k investment into 28k
– I stopped invested 95% of my income and now I only do 20%

4. My New Plan
– I’m only investing around 31,500 which just enough to fully max out my retirement accounts
– With my current 313k invested: in 7 years when I turn 30 at 10% return I’ll have around 939k invested

But importantly Today:
– I can’t be debt-free
– Have a full-blown emergency account
– And a paid-off home
– Meaning that my Wife, Kids are taking care off and I can just continue doing what I love doing

5. How does this apply to you
– You might not have a crazy income
– But the math is still the same
– Over investing can be a problem, because the market can crash
– What I recommend

– 1st Save $1000 for emergency and pay off your debts using the avalanche method first ( the debt that cost the most money )

– 2nd Save for 3-6 month of emergencies while you invest 1-5% max

– 3rd Invest 10-20% into retirement and an additional 5% if you have kids for a 529 account ( the rest of the money use it to buy a home that cost no more than 33% of your monthly income including all expenses on a 15-year mortgage ) – then use all the extra money to pay it off fast

– 4th you debt-free, paid off home, emergency account, a bunch of money investments, and still an amazing income

Why: This plan makes sure your investing and building passive income but that you and your family are safe first. Building a Stock or real estate PORTFOLIO before doing this carries to many risks, because when things go wrong, your still not the owner of anything, and you have no security.
