I do want to say something:
– Its important you understand that failure is apart of every successful story
– So when you set goals, at some point you will fail, and if you don’t fail, maybe your goals are to low
– Yes I believe in Jordan Peterson to set the bar low, but not to low where its just ridiculous

2. How to Set Goals the correct way

(1) Identify your goal ( specific )
– I want to get skinny or I want abs is not a specific goals
– You want to get so specific, where it sounds like you already did it in the past before

For example:
– I want to Lose 30lbs by the December and be 180lbs of lean muscle
– That means I need to lose and average 1-2.5 pounds per week
– The more specific the better

Tip: Use Pictures to help you visualize it

(2) Benefits from reaching your goal and why you want to do it ( it has to be your goal, not you wives goal, mom, or friends ) Power of Why
– If you don’t know the benefits to reaching your goal
– Then what makes you think you are going to stay motivated
– Its important to know the benefits but also have a powerful why

For example:
– The benefits of me losing 30lbs is going to allow me to be more healthy
– Be example for my friends and family that it possible
– And also make me much more sexy lol
– But seriously my why is because I want to be here for my kids and the people important to me, and my dad left way to early because that wasn’t a priority in his life.

(3) List obstacles to reaching your goal ( and avoid don’t fight, just avoid)
– What is going to get in the way of you not reaching goal
– And how do you overcome up

For example:
– Eating Fast food, skipping work outs, and not pushing myself at the gym
– Or hanging around with johnney or listing to paul ( who thinks losing weight is a mith)

(4) Skills you will require to achive this
– In order to achieve something you never achieved before
– You have to become a new person, you have to add more things to your current self
– Your current self is only able to achive what it already has ( but by adding to that current self you can do a lot more )

For example:
– I’ll need to understand body more, how different foods affect my body and how to maximize my work outs
– For some of you using this for business, it might mean I have to a course of online sales to be better

(5) People and organization to work with
– This one is not optional ( but if your like me you probably wish it was)
– You have to find people, companies, or whatever that are pushing towards the same goal as you ( similar )
– And you work with them

(6) Develop a plan of action ( measure it)
– This is honestly my favorite part, I love planning and doing
– This is where you put everything together
– And you keep track of your progress

(7) Set a date to completion ( deadline)
– You do this because, people work best under deadlines
– That’s why you wait until the last minute to write a 20 page paper
– So you need deadlines or else you’ll procrastinate

Tip: sometimes the deadlines will not be hit, and that’s fine, you keep going and you adjust it again

(8) Write It Down
– Sign it and put around you and carry It with you
