JUNCTION CITY, KS — The Kansas African American Affairs Commission will host the Congressional District 2 Community Town Hall on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 701 West 10th Street, Junction City, Kansas.

KAAAC said that the Town Hall will be co-hosted by Commissioner Dr. Crystal J. Davis and Commissioner Jade Ramsdell and will provide a community listening space to elevate the voices, priorities, and solutions of Black Kansans across District 2. Doors will open at 10:30 AM for community welcome, registration, informational tables, and a light brunch.

“This Town Hall is about listening with intention and building community-driven next steps,” said Dr. Crystal J. Davis. “We want residents to share what is working, what needs support, and what they want prioritized across Kansas Congressional District 2, including the 24 counties fully within the district and the portions of Douglas, Jackson, and Wyandotte Counties that are also part of District 2.”

The Town Hall will include opening remarks, a Commission overview, guided questions, and an open community listening session.

The Voter Network will present a voter engagement spotlight highlighting the importance of voting and civic participation. Community members will also have opportunities to provide feedback verbally and in writing.

The event will feature informational tables where attendees can access resources, connect with community partners, and review KAAAC materials, including the Commission’s brief impact information and voter engagement resources. Confirmed informational vendors include Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills, who will share entrepreneurship and business support resources, and information about the Yuma Street Cultural Center and Entrepreneurial Hub coming to Manhattan, Kansas, and Gifted Care Service, LLC, a Junction City-based home care provider offering community information and service resources. KAAAC will also host an information table onsite.

Open to the public, community members, civic leaders, students, faith communities, and local organizations. There is no admission fee.
