MADISON, Wis. — Every year, the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce host a gala to fundraise and showcase Black Owned Businesses in Madison.On Thursday, MDCC is inviting the public to their “Era’s Ball” at the Monona Terrace Terrace Community and Convention Center.”It is a fundraiser and a storytelling event that’s missioned to highlight the last decade of the Black Chamber’s work and how working with one business supports an ecosystem,” said CEO & President of The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce, Camille Carter.In addition to an award ceremony, MDCC is hosting a traveling exhibit of Black Wall Street created by the Tulsa Historical Society and Museum.”Impacts really do matter and investments really do matter so we want to shine a light on that,” said Carter.Carter calls this event “invigorating” saying saying there will be dancing, music and an overall community celebration.”We work with business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the region. We support 800 businesses helping them with resource allocation, start-up of their business and business certification,” said Carter.Carter says anyone that supports the economic growth of Madison will enjoy the event.”This is not just for Black-owned businesses it’s really about connecting out businesses with allies, resource providers, civic and community leaders. It’s an environment to come and celebrate business resiliency,” said Carter.The gala event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in Madison.
