Habits are everything, and everything we do are habits. Even things you don’t like, if you do them long enough, they can become habits. The sad part is when you realize that your habits are destructive but you cant change them or that your habits wont allow you to achieve your goals

So in this video, I’ll the habits that kept me broke for years; and I’ll tell you how to avoid them and what I did.

1. I focused on my Income and not my Output

-See when I started making for decent money back in college I made around $1200 from my work-study job

-It didn’t feel like enough, so I got another job at the gap, and that didn’t feel like enough

-So then I started hustling: buying and selling phones, flipping items and more stuff

Then I realized: the more money I made, the more expensive I had

-It was like a never ending game

-How was it that I could live on $0 with my mom, now I’m college with my mom I can barely live on $1000 and then after hustling I can barely live on 2-3k a month

-I was stupid

What fixed it: Keeping the needs and erasing the wants

2 .I only Bought Liabilities

-Although I was making 8.75 an hour I would spend $150 on a shoe without thinking about it ( that’s 17 hours of work on a shoe )

-I learned my lesson once I got to 23 pairs of sneakers, I realized my closet was filled but my wallet was empty

-I kept 7-9 pairs and sold the rest

3. I wanted investing into education

-Funny I was paying $25,000 a year to go to private college
-But I was spending $0 on education
-I don’t know how to stupid I’ll look admitting this, but I already forgot 90% of what I remembered for a test already

Today: if I want a book, I buy it, if I don’t want it and I need it ( I buy It )

-I try to read for at least 1-2 hours Mon-Fri

4. My friends ( its not that they were bad people )

-Its just that we we’re perfect for each other
-I spend on trash and so did they
-I didn’t think about the future and neither did they
-No one was confronting me, because I was surrounded by me

I’ve only ever broken up with one Friend:

-but every other friend I had back then, 80% them just left, we stopped talking

-Because as I started to change, and confronted them and they saw me doing stuff

-It made them comfortable ( plus life happens )

5. Ego ( I like to think I don’t care about what anyone thinks but I do )

-Almost everything I did back them was to impress people

-The shoes, the college, the girlfriend, the Car and the house dream

-All these things… EGO

Today:

-I wear 2 pair of shoes
-I drive a Toyota
-And I live in working neighborhood in a normal house
