Progress Center for Black Women hosts ‘Photos with Santa’ event

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Progress Center for Black Women is hosting their sixth annual ‘Photos with Santa’ event throughout the weekend.

The event offers people of all ages to take free photos with a Black Santa. Other than snapping pictures, families can enjoy arts and crafts and take home a goody bag after the event.

Progress Center for Black Women Founder Sabrina Madison said she feels that it is important for children to see a Santa who looks like them.

“For a family to be able to flip that book open year after year and see their kids with a Black Santa,” Madison said. “I think it’s super important and it normalizes that Santa can look like their kids, too.”

The photos began on Dec. 7 and will continue on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Madison Children’s Museum, and will grant families free entry into the museum.
