The blitz continued into the second stanza, with Blyde scoring a quickfire double, adding a conversion of her second try, before Mahina Paul completed the demolition.

Canada managed a consolation try in the closing moments.

Veteran Woodman-Wickliffe became the first woman to score 250 tries in the world sevens series on Friday (NZ time), but Blyde has now closed within nine, with four tries so far at the Singapore tournament.

In the knockout stages, New Zealand will now face Great Britain, who qualified as one of the best third-placed teams from poolplay.
