Recently, I read an amazing book titled “Succeeding Against the Odds”
This book is about the founder of Ebony Magazine, Jet Magzine and the Negro Digest, John H. Johnson.

I was totally amazed by this book. The book highlighted many of the obstacles John Johnson had to overcome along his journey to create a multimillion publishing enterprise.

While reading this book, I discovered just how important Johnson Publishing ( Ebony Magazine & Jet Magazine ) was to the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Martin Luther King literally reached out to John H. Johnson to get more media coverage of Civil Rights events and protests.
