TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — FuBear, the Taiwan Excellence mascot, launched a campaign in Thailand on Thursday to “make the world a better place,” per Taiwan Excellence.

“Give Me Five! A Better Life” connects with nine other countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the US, the Philippines, India, the United Kingdom, Japan, Vietnam, and Germany. The idea is to link people around the world through high-fives.

The online element involves visiting a webpage to give FuBear a virtual high-five to create a “better future,” which can be done here.

After completing the gesture, a page shows a live counter of total high-fives and the slogan: “Every high-five fuels real change — powered by Taiwan’s innovation, sparked by your touch.”

The cartoon Formosan black bear mascot is presented as friendly, eager to “explore new positive experiences and new lifestyles,” and portrayed as tech-savvy and eco-friendly.

FuBear will also appear at Bangkok’s Central Ladprao mall on Oct. 4-5.

Taiwan Excellence promotes Taiwan and its products internationally. The Taiwan Excellence Awards were established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1993.
