TWO DAYS IN THE STUDIO
I spent two full days in a recording studio in New York City alongside my sound engineer, and being in that space felt almost meditative for me.

WHY, FOR ME, RECORDING FEELS LIKE A MENTAL RESET
When I’m recording, my brain can’t wander. There are no phone calls. No text messages. No multitasking. It’s just me, the microphone, the words, and complete focus.

In a world where I’m constantly pulled in so many directions, recording an audiobook feels like a mental break. I’m forced to slow down. I have to be present. I have to pay attention to every sentence.

And honestly? That kind of focused quiet feels like a gift. I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite how exhausting it was!

THE STUDIO ROUTINE
Behind the scenes, it’s lots of water, honey, and tea. And this time, making sure I stayed full so my belly didn’t rumble mid-chapter. (Audiobook problems no one talks about.) When you’re in a quiet booth with a sensitive mic, every little sound matters.

SIX AUDIOBOOKS LATER
As mentioned, this was my sixth time recording an audiobook, and I can confidently say the process has gotten smoother each time. And this one went by so much faster.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Now the recording moves into review. The editors will listen back carefully and I’ll go back in to record any necessary corrections if needed (in the past this has only taken 30 minutes or so). Once that’s finalized, it’s officially ready for you!

I can’t wait for you to experience Clever Girl Millionaire in audio form. Whether you’re listening on your commute, during your workouts, or while doing everyday life, I hope it meets you exactly where you are.
