Def Jam Vendetta: the popular video game was one of Def Jam’s best moves.

This was in early 2000s. EA Sports BIG games like NBA Street were popular. EA had a dormant wrestling game in development, Kung Fu Fighting.

Def Jam used that game as the foundation. This was also the peak of WWF’s Attitude Era, so wrestling was popular, especially with young hip-hop fans.

Def Jam Vendetta brought it all together, and launched several sequels on multiple gaming consoles.
