The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. has acquired the Washington, DC site of the former Black Entertainment Television Campus — where the entertainment company was headquartered before moving to New York City in 2017 — and will transform the 7.88-acre site into the USBC Innovation Campus, which it envisions as “a Black business incubator, national media hub, innovation center and cultural landmark,” according to a news release.
USBC plans to invest more than $38 million to turn the campus — where the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) and the Power of Urban Radio Forum held its 2025 summit Oct. 15-17 — into a hub “to reimagine the future of Black enterprise,” the release says.
The campus will focus on training and development of business owners, comprehensive support for small businesses, media and content creation, and workforce innovation and development. It will also house NABOB – which the USBC acquired in 2023 – and USBC Media’s production house, and offer office space for small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and solopreneurs, students, and emerging enterprises.
“For over 16 years, USBC has been the national voice of Black businesses,” the organization’s release says. “With this milestone, USBC enters a new era as the global voice of Black enterprise, launching a new era of Black business, innovation, and economic power. This monumental achievement marks a once-in-a-generation opportunity, [as] the USBC Innovation Campus is uniquely positioned to become the nation’s premier headquarters for business growth and advancement. It will stand as an epicenter of economic development, advocacy, innovation, and culture, a blueprint for the future of commerce, media, and equitable community growth.”
The acquisition of the campus was guided by USBC President and CEO Ron Busby Sr. Board of Director Vice Chair Antwanye Ford, and Chief Operating Officer Alisa Joseph, along with The ELOCEN Group CEO Necole Parker and Chief Operating Officer Rashad Jenkins.
“When I reflect on the journey of the U.S. Black Chambers over the past 16 years, I see a story of resilience, vision, and progress,” Busby says. “This campus is the next chapter of that story — not just a building, but a living symbol of what happens when we claim our space, own our future, and build institutions that outlast us. The USBC Innovation Campus is about more than today’s entrepreneurs; it’s about ensuring that generations to come inherit a place where their ideas, voices, and businesses can thrive.”
As part of the acquisition, USBC has launched its “Power the Legacy” Capital Campaign, a fundraising initiative inviting individuals, corporations and foundations to partner in building the campus, with contributions funding the development of training centers, technology infrastructure and community spaces.
