Does Clickbait Actually Work? What is Clickbait on YouTube?
Clickbait… YouTube Clickbait Videos seem unavoidable. YouTubers who use Clickbait like PewdiePie seem to get more views on YouTube. But does that mean Clickbait Works or is a Good Idea?

WHAT IS CLICKBAIT ON YOUTUBE?
Clickbait on YouTube is usually defined as a Thumbnail and Title designed to get you to click out of curiosity. I don’t consider this an actually clickbait video on YouTube.

What Clickbait is, by my definition and YouTube’s is a Title and Thumbnail that is “DECEPTIVE” in its design to get you to watch a video. This is a “True Clickbait Video”.

DOES CLICKBAIT GET MORE VIEWS ON YOUTUBE?
Does clickbait work on YouTube and will clickbait videos get more views on YouTube? Overwhelmingly the answer is yes. It is unfortunate, and as a result, YouTube has made changes we are not all happy with and we lose great features like Video Responses because of things like this.

CLICKBAIT YOUTUBERS
Not all Clickbait YouTubers are bad, they are just trying to get their content out there and they see this working and are riding the wave. The problem is that when something is working like Clickabit for example, good or bad, it influences the YouTube platforms and culture. The Algorithm might be changed to combat it and people get hurt by that. A certain type of video or channel style gets popular and people change to go in that direction and it means that they lose their authenticity or voice and the content isn’t as good.
