Why I Stopped Tipping

Not to long ago I learned the word tip means to insure prompt service, and I learned this very cool to make sure you get attended very well at a restaurant. You tip before the service beggings, I once did this and the guy was so surpirsed he didn’t he even know what to do, and he got the drinks mixed up it was a cool experience.

But these days, if I go get some ice cream, a burger or even a keychain at a locaL tourist store, these people are asking for tips. The only place that is safe currently has been costco and gas stations.

Under Paying

Now theirs this concept that a lot of people are not paid well

Those you should do you part and give them some extra money as a tip

This is especially true in restaurants with waiters and so on

But here is the truth:

If you have a job and you are being paid minimum wage, that is just fine

And you need more money you need to try to upgrade skills

But some people being paid below minimum wage, then obviosuly they need to make up the difference in tips

My point is, not making enouhg base don your skills is not a reasson to think you should be getting more as an employee and not a reasons for employers to take advantage of them

Here my Rule:

If I’m being giving a service that that person has to perform

And they do a good job, I will tip

But neither them or people can make me feel guilty about the amount I tip

I usually tip 15% but sometimes if I just have a fixed amount of dollars I also give that

Extra:

Here in Dominican republic we get taxed like 18%

Then we have a mandory tip of 10%

And ontop of that people may expect another tip, you basically spend 50% extra if you fall for this all the time

Like the Bible says: Each of you should give what you have decided to give in your heart ( don’t feel guilty, and if you hert tell your something crazy, then double check it, don’t be dummy ) 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Social and Guilt tactics

I heard about this guy that went out on a date with some flashy girl

Ended up spedning all the money he has, and he left the change to the waiter

The waiter called him to return the change to imperrase him

Its almost as if people forget the the tip is optional

Fun Fact

Did you know that the tipping feature can be disabled on those little tablets?

And that the owners are the ones that select the categories.

And they usually ask you in two ways, they show you the tablet and have you pick or they ask allowed how much you want to tip

Im pretty sure of the Following:

But this type of manipulation is pretty crazy

Conclusion

It takes grit to go against the culture

But it takes what it takes
