In 2012, the NAACP wrote a letter to Congress to push back on Pandora Music. The following year, Pink Floyd wrote an open letter in USA Today against Pandora.

This was one of many battles that the internet radio company faced in its goal to lower royalty rates. Ironically, Pink Floyd had no problem having its much on Spotify at the time.

These battles over royalty rates became part of Pandora’s identity.
