YOUTUBE
YouTube has made a lot of changes in 2016. Not all the YouTube 2016 Changes are bad… in fact most of them are really cool, but everyone is freaking out about the YouTube Algorithm and a “Glitch” that is unsubscribring people from channels they want to be subscribed to.

IS YOUTUBE LYING TO US? I don’t believe so, but I believe they are not clearly communicating changes or their intentions on a regular basis, I’ve said they should have monthly Townhalls virtually and have a team or public face that interacts with creators directly and openly. This is something we need to have, period.
IS YOUTUBE BROKEN… AGAIN? No. Not if you actually understand what YouTube is (a search engine based on relevance rather than just popularity), and what YouTube wants/needs you to do… make your content easy for someone who has no idea who the heck you are to understand what it is about and why it is worth their time.
You can learn about the algorithm by using common sense, you don’t need a “secret sauce”.
IS THE YOUTUBE ALGORITHM UNFAIR No. It’s the opposite, it’s finally more balanced and is trying to do what Netflix and Amazon get right, deliver content to us based on how we actually behave and give us what we want or things we don’t even know that we want but would enjoy.
The YouTubers complaining about the Algorithm wouldn’t show up as a recommendation for a similar Netflix show due to their lack of optimizing their content. Every big channel that I’ve seen that doesn’t get the amount of views it should, is not optimizing their videos properly, which is not THAT difficult, and they do make enough money to completely outsource that to someone if they really wanted.
